Workshop Information

Presently over twenty percent of the population, 18 years and older, provide unpaid care to other adults 18 years old and older with caregiver responsibilities lasting an average of 4.3 years.* In the next five years, forty percent of the adult population will provide some form of elder care. Costs are significant especially with caregiving lasting over four years. For example, four years of elder care costs, on average, are significantly higher than attending a prestigious private four-year Indiana college. Free to the community, Proactive Elder Care Seminars immeasurably benefit individual caregivers, their aging loved ones, employees, and employers. Workshops discuss who, what, when, where, and how to begin planning. This is followed by leading experts in their fields discussing finance, law, healthcare, housing (assisted living, nursing home, and rehabilitation to name a few), community services, and bioethics. Proactive Elder Care workshops help caregivers plan, decrease costs, make informed decisions, and so much more.

For working caregivers and business decision makers, information is provided on maintaining and improving job performance and bottom lines that help decrease employee/employer health costs, absenteeism, and turnover. This decreases recruitment and training costs and improves employee relations, morale, productivity, and decision making. * Caregiving in the U.S., National Alliance for Caregiving and AARP, 2004.
